IPL 2024 Schedule,Teams,Orange Cap,Purple Cap : Indian Premier League (IPL) is a professional Twenty20 cricket league in India. It was introduced by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) in 2008. The league consists of eight teams representing eight different cities in India. In Present 2023 ten teams (CSK , MI , DC , SRH , LSG ,GT , PBK, RCB , RR ,KKR ) participate in IPL. The teams play each other twice in a round-robin format, with the top four teams qualifying for the playoffs. The winner of the tournament is gives the IPL trophy. The league is held annually, usually between March and May. It is appraised one of the beloved cricket leagues in the world .

IPL 1st Season

  • The 1st season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) took place in 2008
  • The tournament was organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and was created as a new format of professional T20 cricket in India. 
  • The tournament featured eight teams, representing different cities across India, including Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mohali, and Mumbai.
  • Played between 18 April and 1 June 2008 . 
  • Won by the RR(Rajasthan Royals), who defeated the CSK(Chennai Super Kings) in the final.

IPL 2nd Season

  • The 2nd season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) took place in 2009. 
  • The tournament was organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and was held from 18 April to 24 May 2009.
  • The second season of the IPL featured the same eight teams.
  • The tournament was secured by the DC (Deccan Chargers), a team based in Hyderabad, who defeated the RCB(Royal Challengers Bangalore) in the final
  • Introduction of new rules and regulations, including the retention of up to four players from the previous season, and the introduction of the Strategic Time out through each innings.
